Go to your Automation Performance dashboard and hover over the magnifying glass icon next to the recommended budget. Click "See Details" to view more detailed insights on how the recommended budget is determined.

The insights show a breakdown of your automation settings and the logic behind the budget recommendations. This provides more clarity and transparency into how budget recommendations are made.

Automation Insights

The pop-up helps you understand the steps taken to give the budget recommendation for that day. You’ll see:

  • Automation settings at the time of calculation:

    • Last run time

    • Your chosen goal (e.g. Revenue, Clicks, etc)

    • Attribution model (LC, MTA, or UMM)

    • Attribution window

    • Total daily budget

    • Any automation rules currently active

    • Whether automation is set to apply recommendations automatically

    • Whether "Sync budget with ad managers" is enabled

  • A bar graph showing:

    • Campaign/ adset spend

    • Current campaign/ adset budget

    • Recommended campaign adset budget

This graph helps you visualize how the recommended budget compares to actual spend and your current budget.

Explore Past and Present Recommendations

You can click on any bar in the graph to explore details for a specific day, including past days. This gives you full transparency into:

  • What was recommended

  • Why it was recommended

  • How it compares to your performance and settings at that time

The 3 Steps Logic of the Budget Recommendation

When you click on a bar (past or current), you’ll see the 3 steps your automation follows to generate the recommendation:

  1. Budget Range Check
First, we calculate the possible budget range. Your current budget can:

    • Increase or decrease by a maximum of 20%

    • This range may be further adjusted based on available volume to spend against

      • For example, if a campaign is performing well but there’s not enough traffic or impressions to support a higher spend, the maximum budget may be capped below the 20% increase.

  2. Automation Rules
Next, we check whether any rules you’ve added (such as time-based or performance triggers) apply to this date. These rules can increase or decrease the recommended budget further.

  3. Automation Process
Finally, our algorithm uses machine learning and your ROI curve to predict whether extra spend is likely to contribute to more goal achievement.
Based on that forecast, we generate the final recommended budget.

How to use

This added transparency ensures that you're never left wondering why a recommendation was made. You now have full visibility into:

  • How your automation works

  • What inputs and rules influenced the decision

  • What your budget recommendation aims to achieve
