Custom Events are the Billy Grace equivalent of Goals in Google Analytics. By creating a custom event and making the event measurable by the Billy Pixel, you can see the performance of your own defined goals in Billy Grace.

Important: You need to have the Billy Pixel installed before you can create and measure your own Custom Events. Follow the installation Guide to successfully install the Billy Pixel.

to see an overview of events the Pixel measures, you can visit this page in the Billy Grace app.

On this page, you can create new Events and edit or delete existing Events. Click on the three dots to edit an event. On the edit page, you can give the Custom Event a conversion value. This value is used to calculate the cost per conversion of the event. On this page, you can also activate the event. By activating the event, it will be a selectable goal in several reports, and it can be used as a goal in an Optimization.

Custom Events are sent to the Pixel via Google Tag Manager. Read on to learn how to set up a new Custom Event.

Expertise in Google Tag Manager is required when configuring Custom Events. If you don't know someone who has experience with Google Tag Manager, we are happy to link you to one of our partners to help you set up Custom Events. Get in touch via: hello@billygrace.com or send a chat to support via the in-app messenger.

We differentiate two ways of creating Custom Events. For e-commerce platforms (think about Magento, Lightspeed, Headless Shopify etc.) and B2B and B2C websites. (basically everything but e-commerce).
