Custom Events in Billy Grace are custom-made conversion goals, which are set in Google Tag Manager. It is basically the equivalent of Goals in Google Analytics. By creating a Custom Event and tracking it via the Billy Pixel, you can measure the performance of your own defined goals directly within the Billy Grace platform.

Important: Make sure the Billy Pixel is installed before creating or tracking Custom Events. Need help? Follow the installation Guide to successfully install the Billy Pixel.

Viewing your Custom Events

To see which events have been received at least once and check if the events are included (active) in reports, you can visit your custom event page in the Billy Grace platform.

New events are added to this list automatically as soon as the Billy Pixel receives them.

From here, you can edit or delete any event.
Click the three dots next to an event to open the edit menu, where you can:

  • Assign a static value per event, unless a dynamic value is set

  • Activate the event, making it selectable as a goal in reports, Automations, and Automation Rules

Sending Custom Events to the Pixel

Custom Events are sent to the Billy Pixel via Google Tag Manager or any other tag management software. We distinguish between two main implementation methods:

1. E-commerce Platforms

For platforms such as Magento, Lightspeed, Headless Shopify, and others.

2. B2B / B2C Websites

For all non-eCommerce websites, such as lead generation, content, or service-based platforms.
