Group channels, campaigns, and ads once, then use that grouping everywhere in Billy Grace.
Tags group campaigns, ad sets and ads through rules on their channel, medium or name. Once created, you can filter any performance page by a tag and see it as a column in your tables and exports, so you only have to define a grouping once, instead of rebuilding the same filter combination separately for every dashboard.
Get started
Navigate to Settings and open the Tags page to create and manage your tags.
Create a new Tag
A tag consists of a name and one or more rules that determine which campaigns, ad sets and ads receive it.
To create a tag:
Click Create Tag
Under Tag Name, enter a name for your tag. This is the name shown wherever the tag appears, for example in tables and Filtered Views.
Optionally, select a Funnel Stage. This is for Billy Grace's internal use only, so tools like Quin and UMM clustering know what this label means for your account.
Under Rules, you can choose a Field, Operator and Value to define which channel, medium, campaign, ad set or ad should get this tag.
Click + Add Filter again to add more conditions, or Remove All to start over.Check the Preview section to see which campaigns, ad sets and ads currently match your rules in the current date range. This uses the same layout and figures as Channel Performance.
Save your tag.
Note: Channels, mediums, campaigns, ad sets and ads are matched to a tag automatically based on your rules, you don't need to tag them one by one, and new campaigns that match the rules are picked up automatically too.
Use your tags
Once created, tags become available across the platform:
As a column in your tables
Tags appear as a column in Channel Performance and Paid Performance, so you can see at a glance which tag(s) apply to each row. This column is also included when you export these tables.
In Filtered Views
You can filter any performance page by tag. When creating a Filtered View, add a filter, set the Field to Tag, then select one or more tags from the dropdown to narrow down your data. Save the Filtered View to quickly re-apply that tag filter later.
Why use Tags?
Tags help you to:
Group channels, mediums, campaigns, ad sets and ads once, based on rules, instead of recreating the same combination separately for every filter or dashboard
See your tags directly as a column in Channel Performance and Paid Performance, and in your exports
Filter any performance page or Filtered View by tag, so you always work with a consistent grouping across the platform
Because tags are rule-based, they keep working in the background: any campaign, ad set or ad that matches the rules is tagged automatically, so your groupings stay up to date without manual maintenance.
